Lynne Trobaugh was the person who made you feel like a lifelong friend instantly — the woman who’d take Black Diamond ski runs in the morning, break out air guitar to The Rolling Stones at night, and remember everyone else’s birthday before her own. We lost her to ovarian cancer in January 2026. On October 2nd at Grass Clippings, her family, friends, and community are coming together to support TGen’s ovarian cancer early-detection research — raising every dollar we can so more women survive it.
About Lynne
69 years of more wattage than most manage in twice that time.
Born in Los Angeles in October 1956, she met her husband Jim — Troby to almost everyone — at Arizona State, and they were married for 46 adventurous years. Together they raised two daughters and welcomed two granddaughters. She built a career in radio sales and then, for more than 15 years, as a sought-after fashion stylist whose taste, warmth, and bottomless laugh made every client a friend.
What set Lynne apart wasn’t just the wattage — it was where she pointed it. Her concern was almost always for someone else: the friend who needed checking on, the kid who needed a ride, the cause that needed a hand. She fought ovarian cancer for 2½ years with the same grace and selflessness that defined the rest of her life — and even at the very end, she never complained. She was too busy making sure the people she loved were okay.

The Ovarian Cancer Screening & Early Detection Initiative
Early detection of ovarian cancer has been nearly impossible: initial symptoms like bloating and abdominal pain are easy to miss or dismiss, and standard screening tools aren’t sensitive enough to flag the disease before it progresses. TGen researchers have identified unique biological signatures in standard Pap smears and blood that can reliably distinguish ovarian cancer patients from healthy individuals. Philanthropic funding from the Lynne Trobaugh Golf Classic will expand the clinical trial of this Pap smear and blood test—reaching more patients across Arizona and the Southwest, and detecting cancer at its earliest and most treatable stage.
