About Lynne
For Lynne. For early detection. For the protection of all women.
Lynne Trobaugh lived 69 years with more wattage than most people manage in twice that time. Born in Los Angeles in October 1956, she met her husband Jim — Troby to almost everyone — at Arizona State, and they were married for 46 adventurous years. Together they raised two daughters and welcomed two granddaughters. Lynne loved her family fiercely. She built a successful career first in radio sales and then, for more than 15 years, as a sought-after fashion stylist whose taste, warmth, and bottomless laugh made every client a friend.
She had a rare gift for making strangers feel like lifelong friends instantly. She skied Park City’s Black Diamond ski runs, sailed the Caribbean, drank Mai Tais with her toes in the sand at St. Thomas, and could be counted on to break out a legendary air guitar at any party — especially when The Rolling Stones came on.
What set Lynne apart wasn’t just the wattage — it was where she pointed it. Her concern was almost always for someone else.
She joined Delta Gamma at Arizona State, where she made friends she’d keep for the rest of her life. She taught Sunday School at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church and was deeply involved in PTA and school activities at Hopi Elementary and Ingleside Middle School in support of her daughters. She was a beloved member of the Desert Foundation Auxiliary for many years — generously opening her beautiful home for meetings and events in her active years and staying close to her DFA friends as an associate member. For three years she also volunteered as a fundraiser for Hospice of the Valley, putting the same warmth she brought to every client and every party into raising money for end-of-life care.
She fought ovarian cancer for 2½ years with the same grace and selflessness that defined the rest of her life — and even at the very end, in pain and facing what she was facing, she never complained. She was too busy making sure the people she loved were okay. In January 2026, complications took her unexpectedly. Her bright eyes, quick wit, sharp mind, and endless care for everyone around her are missed every day.
